Director/Senior Director of Product Management

SF Bay Area preferred, working remotely is possible, although location within 3 time zone of US Pacific is essential


This position is part of Azul’s Marketing team, and reports to the VP of Marketing.

Director of Product Management is a key role and requires frequent contact with senior line of business and technology executives both within and outside the company.

This is a hands-on position. You will be a critical part of each product launch, including managing download sites, responding to forum requests, updating internal Wikis, as well as producing specific summaries of product attributes, capabilities, components, and value propositions in partnership with our Sales and executive teams. 

Working with Engineering, Product Management, Azul’s executive and Marketing teams as well as prospects, customers, partners, and advisors, you are the focal point to identify, clarify, prioritize and manage the roadmap of Zing, Zulu, and Zulu Embedded.


  • At least 10 years of experience in all facets of product marketing for an enterprise software company targeting Global 1000 accounts.
  • MBA plus a technical degree (preferably advanced) strongly preferred
  • Excellent English-language writing and presentation skills
  • Proven success in software product management, ideally in a small team or individual contributor role
  • Prior experience supporting open source software products and/or active membership in key Open Source communities is desirable
  • Experience with, and understanding of software development and implementation, key software and security standards and the Java ecosystem are all preferred
  • Proven ability to manage highly detailed processes without missing deadlines
  • At most 10% travel, primarily US, Europe, China, Japan and Korea


Your responsibilities will include:

  • You’ll own and manage the roadmapping process for Azul’s products.
  • You will manage products across the complete life cycle, from requirements to GA to EOL.
  • You will manage the BOM for each product release.
  • You’ll manage availability of product binaries on public clouds, inside partner sites, and on Azul’s download pages
  • With our Legal team, you will own the accuracy of all third-party licensing materials included with Azul’s products
  • Development of and successful implementation of new initiatives that expand the market for Azul’s product offerings
  • Review and verification of new technical content developed for Sales, Marketing, and Business Development
  • Identification of new market segments and key partnering opportunities
  • Meet with key (and potential) customers and partners to ensure that Azul’s product roadmaps continue to meet customer visible and emerging requirements
  • Contributions to Sales engagements as requested
  • Lead (or serve as a key member of) cross-functional teams from across the company
  • Represent Azul at select industry forums, which may include a few (2-5) speaking engagements per year
