The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a wide variety of accounting responsibilities. You will report to the VP Finance and work closely with other members of the company. The position requires that the candidate be a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting. A SOX-compliant mindset, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and desire and ability to identify, recommend, and lead improvements is important.
BS degree with a concentration in Accounting or related field required. CPA or equivalent is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Minimum of 5 years related work experience
Ability to work independently, coordinating priorities to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to set own pace and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines and adapt to changing work priorities
Solid computer skill especially with Microsoft Excel experience.
These may include but are not limited to:
Manage month-end close and prepare monthly reporting schedule and related deliverables
Prepare monthly flux analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
Perform Multi-level Intercompany transactions and analysis
Perform monthly account reconciliations and analysis for assigned accounts
Participate in ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested
Assist with year-end audits and annual tax returns
Assist in implementing a new expense reimbursement software
Participate in process improvements, financial system enhancements, and special projects as needed
Serve as a payroll/Accounts payable back-up and perform related accounting and reconciliations
