The Zing Virtual Machine supports high throughput and ultra low latency applications, which poses some challenging constraints for the Linux kernel and Java Virtual Machine.
You will be a key member of the Zing System Tools development group responsible for adding support for new kernels in various Linux distros and adding new features in the ZST to support Zing’s C4 Garbage Collector and Zing Virtual Machine runtime.
As a senior member of the team, a person in this role will work on linux kernel development and features in the Zing Virtual Machine in user space, which straddle the boundaries of the ZVM and ZST. Other responsibilities may include contributing pluggable modules, performance enhancements and bug fixes in the kernel and perf tools to the Linux kernel mainline.
The person may also be responsible for certain features and maintenance of Zing’s C4 collector.
This will be a great opportunity to work on the award winning Zing Virtual Machine and specifically the C4 collector, which eliminates outliers associated with stop-the-world collectors and guarantees consistent response times.
