ATLANTA–MICROSOFT IGNITE — Azul Systems (Azul), the award-winning leader in Java runtime solutions, today announced that Zulu Enterprise support for Microsoft Windows Server 2016 will be available when the new Microsoft operating system ships in October, 2016. Zulu Enterprise builds of OpenJDK enable Microsoft customers and partners to build and support Java-based applications using a 100% open source Java platform in cloud or on-premises deployments, with commercial support offerings available.

Java remains the most popular programming language across the enterprise, as reported by a variety of sources including the TIOBE Index. Zulu Enterprise builds of OpenJDK are certified compliant with the Java Standard Edition (Java SE) standards for Java 8, 7 and 6, and are widely deployed by cloud-centric organizations. In addition to support for Windows Server 2016, Zulu Enterprise also supports Windows Server 2012 R2, 2012, and 2008 R2 as well as 64-bit Windows Client 10, 8.1, 8 and 7.
