Azul Systems® Signs Beijing Fortunet as Authorized Reseller for China and Hong Kong

SUNNYVALE, Calif., and BEIJING, China, September 24, 2012 – Azul Systems, the award-winning leader in Java runtime scalability, announced today that it has signed a reseller agreement with Beijing Fortunet Information and Technology Co., Ltd. (Fortunet). Fortunet will be selling the Zing Elastic Software Platform and all associated components to enterprise accounts throughout China, including Hong Kong.

With branches in Beijing, Hangzhou, and Hong Kong, Beijing Fortunet focuses on system integration and R&D in applications performance and network security for the telecommunications, financial, government and enterprise market segments. Fortunet is a subsidiary of Beijing Teamsun (Shanghai Stock ExchangeCode 600410). The Fortunet Web site is located at https://www.fortunet.com.cn/.

Fortunet General Manager Ray Chen said “Azul’s industry-leading Zing is the solution to many critical scalability, performance, and poor response time issues that our customers face today. We are excited to work with Azul to serve customers in China.”

“This agreement will enable customers throughout China to deploy the best-of-breed Java runtime solution for systems that require low transaction latency, predictable performance, and access to large in-memory data stores,” said Scott Sellers, Azul Systems president and CEO. “Azul looks forward to working with Fortunet to deliver and support Zing for enterprises throughout China.”

Zing is a 64-bit elastic Java runtime that is based upon Oracle’s Hotspot. Zing implements a pauseless garbage collection algorithm that enables new or existing Java applications to take simultaneous advantage of very large Java heaps (hundreds of GBs of memory) while also delivering extremely low latency. Unlike other JVMs that return “out of memory” errors and crash when demand goes beyond planned levels, Zing’s unique elastic properties enable it to utilize available server memory to keep applications running, making it ideal for mission-critical or Cloud-based deployments.

With Zing, enterprises can support many more users, with improved response time, on fewer Java instances, making it easier to deliver improved performance – all without making any changes to the application itself.

Zing runs on four major x86-64 Linux distributions:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5.4 or greater
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, version 11 sp1 and sp2
  • CentOS 5 and 6
  • Ubuntu Linux versions 10.04 and 12.04 LTS

About Azul Systems

Azul Systems delivers high-performance and elastic Java Virtual Machines (JVMs) with unsurpassed scalability, manageability and production-time visibility. Designed and optimized for x86 servers and enterprise-class workloads, Azul’s Zing is the only Java runtime that supports highly consistent and pauseless execution for throughput-intensive and QoS-sensitive Java applications. Azul’s products enable organizations to dramatically simplify Java deployments with fewer instances, greater response time consistency, and dramatically better operating costs.
