Epidata Enhances Java Toolkit With the Addition of Zulu®

Azul Systems, Inc, (Azul), the award-winning leader in Java runtime solutions, today announced that Epidata, its South American reseller, has added Zulu Enterprise to its Java performance management toolkit to enable it to deliver increased application productivity and business efficiencies to new and existing enterprise clients.

Azul’s Zulu Enterprise, a 100% open source implementation of the Java Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE), is ideal for companies who have key applications running on various versions of Java, even older versions such as Java 6, and have a need for cost-effective, high-quality ongoing support. Major versions of Java are supported for ten years from initial General Availability (for example in the case of Java 6, Zulu Enterprise support contracts will be available through 2024). The availability of long-term support enables Java-based businesses to migrate entirely on their schedule.

“Azul’s Zulu has broadened the options for Java developers, independent software vendors and enterprise customers looking for stability, solid commercial support and more competitive pricing,” said John Abbott, Distinguished Analyst, 451 Research. “Azul has a strong and deep team of Java experts that have been addressing Java issues and supporting enterprise customers for more than 12 years.”

With Zulu Enterprise joining Azul’s Zing in the Epidata portfolio, the Buenos Aires-based consultancy is now able to provide an enhanced service which can guarantee consistent application response times and more efficient resource consumption to ensure quality metrics and Service Level Agreement (SLA) criteria are achieved and maintained.

Valerio Adrián Anacleto, Director at Epidata, said: “We have been working with Azul Systems for over a year because Zing is seen as the de facto industry choice if you are looking to guarantee consistent Java application performance and throughput. With Zulu Enterprise now in our portfolio of offerings, our proposition becomes even stronger. Our business has grown on our ability to minimize the risk of application downtime, and our commercial relationship with Azul Systems increases our appeal to many enterprise clients.”

Scott Sellers, CEO of Azul Systems, said: “Epidata is a recognized leader in Java application performance, management, and monitoring in Argentina and Chile and we are pleased they are now offering Zulu Enterprise to their customers in these emerging markets. Zulu Enterprise enables companies to run their Java applications their way, in their chosen environment and on their time-table of version evolution; cost-effectively, reliably and dependably.”

Zulu Enterprise is a commercialized build of OpenJDK that is compatible and compliant with Java SE versions 7, 7 and 8. Zulu is verified using the OpenJDK Community Technology Compatibility Kit (TCK) in addition to robust stress and load testing. Zulu is freely downloadable from www.azulsystems.com/products/zulu/downloads.
