Free Java 8 security updates from Oracle ended in January.

Learn How

If your business is based on Java, your life just got more complicated.

On April 16, 2019, Oracle will release a Java security update without also shipping a free patch for any production-worthy version of Java.

This is the first time the Java community has faced such a challenge. Until April 2019, Oracle and Sun always provided free quarterly updates for production versions of Java — and they did this reliably and impeccably.

Now, as the bitter winds of impending Winter build toward the April 16 deadline, you have choices.  You can sign a contract with Oracle or Red Hat, or hope that a free alternative builds of OpenJDK will protect you — or you can choose to receive timely security updates from Azul Systems. Zulu Enterprise subscribers get low-risk security-only updates plus new feature updates every quarter — just like Oracle provided (free) for years.

The Java world is changing. If you would like to review your options before Winter strikes, we’re ready to help! Start with the form on this page and we’ll be in touch ASAP.

Sincerely,

Team Azul
