Oracle announced end of GlassFish support. BMW needed a new app server close to the Java EE reference implementation with minimal migration effort.

Migrated to Payara Server Enterprise (GlassFish-derived). Out-of-cycle patches for critical issues.

Smooth migration from GlassFish to Payara/Java EE 7. 10-year lifecycle for Payara Server 4.x.
