adhoc International Partners with Azul Systems® for High Performance Java Application Solution

LONDON, UK, and SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 30, 2012 — Azul Systems, the award-winning leader in Java runtime scalability, today announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with adhoc International, a leading EMEA technology consultancy that specializes in IT Performance Engineering and Application Performance Management. Under this partnership, Azul joins such vendors as VFabric, CA APM, Compuware and AppDynamics as part of the best of breed portfolio of adhoc’s Performance Architecture Practice. Azul technology will allow adhoc to deliver high performance, highly consistent and ultra-low latency platforms for enterprise customers who run their business-critical applications on Java.

In financial services, many platforms suffer from pauses or ‘jitter’ associated with the Java runtime (i.e. the JVM) which can adversely affect latency, performance and throughput of their applications. In today’s market where time is money and guaranteed predictability is a requirement, the financial sector struggles to deploy cost-effective, low latency solutions that don’t require specialized hardware or one-off configurations. With Azul technology, financial services organizations can now enjoy ultra-low latency at high levels of throughput and improved service availability even under unpredictable loads.

Makram Hanin, managing director at adhoc International, said: “Mature Java applications are more than 10 years old and are based on the architectural patterns and technologies of the first JEE age. Many of our customers are now requesting that these business-critical applications become modernized and upgraded. Therefore, we needed a partner who is at the forefront of maximizing Java application performance and can provide us with a solution proven in the most demanding application environments.  Azul is the only Java platform that meets all the challenging service level criteria we require. We are excited to be partnering with the leader in business-critical Java runtimes.”

Scott Sellers, CEO at Azul Systems, said: “adhoc International is widely recognized for its Java expertise and has an excellent track record in helping their customers improve application performance and consistency. We are pleased they have chosen Azul technology that will allow them to deliver large performance gains for applications as well as dramatically reduce worst case latencies as low as 80 usec for tuned applications. That will be a massive improvement for many of their clients’ applications.”

adhoc International provides performance consultancy for organizations such as Crédit Suisse, Société Générale, ING Direct, Generali and Orange.
