Azul Systems® and Axway Team to Address Critical Business Application Performance

Mountain View, Calif. and Scottsdale, Ariz. – June 10, 2008 – Azul Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-classapplication performance and IT solutions for Java™ applications, and Axway, a leading provider of collaborative business-to-business (B2B) solutions, today announced that they are working together to address complex and demanding application performance needs for global financial businesses. Business critical applications present scalability and response time challenges that traditionally have led to server sprawl, low asset utilization, and growing IT administration costs. Azul Systems and Axway have partnered to address these challenges by automating check processing and other financial batch processes that are typically very time-consuming and inefficient. Joint customers have experienced a four-fold increase in throughput while reducing the number of traditional general purpose server CPUs required by a factor of ten or more, resulting in reduced total cost of ownership by as much as 30%. Azul and Axway will highlight their joint capabilities at the SIFMA Technology and Management 2008 conference, occurring June 10 – 12, 2008 at booth #2201 at the Hilton in New York.

“We are very excited to work with Azul Systems – our combined expertise and experience is a win for companies looking for secure high volume transactions and B-to-B integration,” said Gary Bachelor, vice president of business development at Axway. “We expect customers of combined Axway-Azul deployments will see a tremendous increase in overall performance and reduced server infrastructure requirements, translating into a solid return on their investment.”

“Increasingly demanding service levels in financial institutions are making it more and more difficult for these organizations to rely solely on existing traditional servers to meet and scale their business critical applications,” said Ram Appaalaraju, vice president of technology and product marketing for Azul Systems. “Together with Axway, we can fully address the infrastructure escalation that is eating away at our customers’ budgets, which they should be spending to deploy new services and improve their business.”

Together with Azul’s Compute Appliances for Java applications and Axway’s Synchrony™ Gateway, improvements are seen in supply chain, trading partner community management, and data synchronization solutions. The technological benefits and increase in performance helps major financial institutions overcome limitations that affect daily business transactions, such as scalability and response time challenges.

Key Benefits to Customers of the Axway-Azul Partnership:

  • Faster throughput – Customers experience up to 600% increase in throughput
  • Enhanced Scalability – 4x increase in transaction volume handling on existing gateway server infrastructures
  • Reduced infrastructure costs – 10x fewer traditional servers required, simplifying management complexity and reducing datacenter space requirements
  • Reduced power requirements and carbon emissions – Achieve 59 percent reduction in power and cooling costs, and realize operational carbon neutrality through Azul’s unique Green in Mind™ carbon offset program
  • Improved customer service – Customers detect and correct exceptions before they become critical problems due to the runtime visibility provided by Azul’s RealTime Performance Monitoring solution
