- First Java 11-based V2COM products built using Zulu Embedded planned for Q1 2019
SUNNYVALE, Calif., – Azul Systems, the award-winning leader in Java runtime solutions, today announced that V2COM, a São Paulo-based leading provider of Smart Systems and IoT Solutions with a global presence, has chosen Java 11-based builds of OpenJDK from Azul Systems for its future products based on the Arm processor architecture.
V2COM has achieved extraordinary results using the Java programming language across multiple generations of embedded, M2M and IoT-focused designs. By moving to Java 11, the company expects to take full advantage of the modularity features and language elements that have been added to the Java platform since Java 8, the last major long term support (LTS) release of the Java platform, in its Industrial IoT gateways.
“We’ve been working with Azul Systems for over two years on a number of product designs,” said Guilherme Spina, V2COM CEO. “By aligning with Azul Systems we gain multiple advantages – an experienced Java partner with deep experience in the embedded sector, IP protection for our application code, simple and affordable pricing plans, and the flexibility of a 100% open source platform backed by Azul’s superb support organization.”
“As embedded OEMs, ISVs, and IoT device pioneers like V2COM look to the future, they need a trusted Java partner who can help them navigate the ever-changing Java roadmap and reduce their product costs,” said Scott Sellers, Azul Systems president and CEO. “By teaming with Azul, our embedded partners benefit from working with an experienced team 100% focused on Java, access to the full breadth of Java SE versions with long-term support, and flexible, hassle-free business terms.”
